Before, someone could list up to four homes, but now, they’re limited to just two. This change aims to discourage large investors from converting too many homes into holiday rentals, making more apartments and houses available for people who actually live and work in the area. Lake Como’s authorities believe this is a key step in tipping the scales back toward housing affordability, ensuring that locals don’t get squeezed out by the ever-growing demand from tourists.
One of the most eye-catching measures is the new minimum stay requirement. Visitors hoping for a quick one-night escape will now have to book at least two consecutive nights.
